BIO

Rainen Knecht lives and works in Portland, OR. She graduated from the now defunct San Francisco Art Institute in 2006, with honors. She has received the Madjrakoff Painting Award, the Oregon Arts Commission Career opportunity grant (thrice) and is a Hallie Ford Fellow ( 2021).

She is the mother of Freddie and lives with her husband, Chris Baird, Freddie and their junkyard dog, Rocky on a long and dangerous street in SE Portland, across from a field of Lupine in bloom.
